LaviniaNext develops Castilla-La Mancha Media OTT platform

Since October, Castilla-La Mancha Media (CMM) has added CMMPlay, an OTT platform developed by LaviniaNext, to its product. CMMPlay offers various themed channels and content produced exclusively for an online audience. One of its major objectives is to give relevance to the culture and social aspects of Castilla-La Mancha, giving special importance to live broadcasts of both sporting events and social and cultural happenings in the region.

CMMPlay is an agile and intuitive tool that facilitates multi-device access, use and visualisation by users, as well as management by editors of the platform. The design implemented provides a useful and personalised experience adjusted to the interests of different audience segments. With this, it aims to promote participation and create active, involved and loyal communities. Feedback and measurement mechanisms have also been established to listen to and discover the needs of the viewer.

The different phases of conceptualisation, content architecture, design, analytics, strategy, programming and elaboration have demonstrated the capacities of LaviniaNext’s different departments to create an innovative and effective product. The new OTM for CMM responds to the challenge of presenting a platform that wants to be a trailblazer in the world of audiovisual communication and fully exportable to the rest of regional television.

The LaviniaNext team have been responsible for applying, connecting and developing the various technologies necessary for the service. The Kaltura console has been preserved as a video backend, shared with CMM, the website for the television channel from Castilla-La Mancha -also developed by LaviniaNext. The interconnection components have been integrated through specific APIs to connect with third-party systems, including new apps for Android and iOS.

LaviniaNext has also won the tender to develop the platform, which will be carried out from its headquarters in Madrid. Specifically, it deals with the ingestion and management of content, the design of the channel’s graphic image and contents, review and promotion on social networks, as well as the positioning of the platform.
